PDC-Board_6_5
Ammies regain top spot, but Timperley are still the only side remaining with a perfect record this season.

Division 1

With former leaders Timperley CC not in action due to the Victoria rescheduling their fixture, the Ammies were given the chance to claim top spot for the first time this season.

The Volunteer 2 vs 5 The Levenshulme

The Levenshulme have been unfortunate with a number of rearranged games meaning they have games in hand on the rest of the division, but another good win here sees them handily placed with only the one loss so far. The Volunteer are still finding the adjustment to Division 1 darts a little tough, but they will be hopeful of securing that first win soon.

The visitors took an early lead after a 3-1 win for Mick Cooney in the opener, but the Vol first levelled after a 3-2 win for Geoff Sanders in game 2, before taking a 2-1 lead with a comfortable 3-0 win for Callum Nolan in game 3. The Levenshulme’s Mick Young made it 2-2 after a 3-0 win which featured a 144 checkout, and from there the Levenshulme moved through the gears with consecutive 3-0 wins for Dylan Wimbury and Pete Evans sealing the match, before Ant Hargreaves Sr took the final game 3-1 to give a final score of 5-2 to the away side.

Match Stats

Ammies Darts 6 vs 1 Broadheath Central

Another big win took the Ammies to the top of the table for the first time this season, leading the division by a point from the only side to beat them so far, Timperley CC. In this league every win by each player earns his (or her) side a league point, and outside of that 4-3 defeat at the end of July the Ammies have slightly bettered Timperleys scorelines with two 6-1 wins and a 7-0 to earn their place at the top.

Leyton Jackson got Broadheath off to a flier with a 3-0 defeat of Andy Tucker, but it was pretty much one way traffic from there on in. Ammies’ Mike Morrison hit a 17 darter and 7 ton plusses during a 3-0 win that made it 1-1, while Scott Livingstone and Chris McKenzie both won deciding legs to put the Ammies into a 3-1 lead – Chris with his first maximum of the season in game four. Kyle Bell secured the Ammies win with a 3-0 win in the fifth, and Paul Devine matched that result in game six to extend the lead to 5-1. Birthday boy Pete Watson then put the icing on the cake in the final game of the night, with his 3-1 win earning the point that put his side top of the league.

Match Stats

Wythenshawe CSC 3 vs 4 St Johns SC

From the results sheet this one looks like it was a cracking game, as St John’s bounced back from that heavy Ammies defeat in their last league game with a close fought win over Wythenshawe.

Kraig Loose and Martin Tyson ensured the visitors flew out of the blocks as both recorded 3-0 wins in the opening two games, Kraig with a 180 and an 18 darter, while Martin scored 8 ton plusses in his win over Martin Power who manged a 180 in defeat. From 2-0 down, Wythenshawe rallied with three consecutive 3-1 wins which turned the game on its head, the first of those was via Dave Peploe who beat Kaine Goldie with both players hitting maximums, Matt Shaughnessy then brought the sides level, before Big John Brown hit a 180 during his win over Alan Dawson which made it 3-2 to Wythenshawe. In game six, the ever reliable Mike Shaw claimed a 3-0 win (with 9 ton plusses and a near 80 average) which made it it 3-3 overall, meaning it all came down to a game 7 decider between the home side’s Paul McCreevey and the returning Anthony Cooper for St John’s. Looking at the numbers only, neither player played like they can, but St John’s wont care as it was Anthony who secured the 3-0 win which won them the game.

Match Stats

Cringlewood 2 vs 5 John Alker

The Alker have had a fine start to the season, and this win sees them claim third in the league, only 3 points behind the Ammies in top place. Cringlewood are still in search of that maiden victory, but with the season only four games old for most teams, its still early days.

In the first game of the night, Chris Wormald took a deciding leg win to put the Alker one up, but the home side’s Luke Mulhern claimed a 3-1 win over Gaz O’Donnell in the second to level the score at 1-1. Gary Thompson put the Alker back in front with a 3-1 win featuring a 122 finish, before Baz Rowland extended the visitors lead hitting a 180 in a 3-1 win of his own in game 4. John Hawken wrapped up the bonus points for the Alker with a 3-1 win in the fifth, while Alker Captain Ewan Donegan rubber stamped the victory with a 3-0 win in the penultimate game of the night. The Cringlewood did manage to claim another point in the final game, as Rob Lauder secured a 3-1 win over John Greaves.

A 3-0 Jordan Perry win in the fourth brought the sides level at 2-2, and after Sharon Kirby and Steve Lawless won deciding legs in games five and six the win was secured for the Oak. The last game of the night saw a tidy 3-0 win and a 180 for Pete Perry, which gave a final score of 5-2 to the Royal Oak.

Match Stats

Trafford SC 3 vs 4 The Melville

So, the last unbeaten record in Division 2 falls at the fifth time of asking as Trafford Social suffer a first defeat of the season at the hands of near neighbours The Melville, the result meaning Trafford drop into second place in the league, while The Melville’s impressive start to life in Division 2 sees them sit third, only a couple of points behind their beaten opponents.

The Melville went one up after a 3-2 win for Jake Powell, but Trafford fought back immediately and soon led 3-1 overall, after 3-1 wins for Kyle Wands and Jake Neersoo in games 2 and 3 were followed by a 3-0 win for Andrew Wood in the fourth. With the divisional leaders (at the time) only one away from the match, The Melville dug deep and turned the game on its head, newcomer Gary Brisco continuing his fine league form since joining with a 180 during a 3-2 win over Liam Galvin, while Cam McFarlane levelled the match with a deciding leg win over Jordan Fry. At 3-3 it all came down to the final game, and Melville captain Jon Powell ensured the win for his side with a 180 in a 3-1 win over Gaz Collins who also hit a 106 finish.

Match Stats

Urmston SC 3 vs 4 The Roebuck

Both sides went into this game with similar records, the home side sitting in fifth and the visitors in sixth, and while this result left those positions as they were, it brought The Roebuck within four points of their opponents with a game in hand.

The game was underway after Gaz Lane hit a 180 during a 3-1 win over Chris Haycock to give Urmston the lead, but the Buck’s Chris Merriman pulled his side level with a deciding leg win in game 2. Urmston’s Steve Lye then pinned a 101 finish and 5 ton plus scores during a 3-1 win which put his side back into the lead, but the visitors were level once again after Mark Garnett got the better of Michelle Fitton to make it 2-2. Rick Keil hit a 16 darter while giving the Roebuck the lead for the first time after a 3-0 win in game 5, but when Urmston’s Luke Lonergan won game six by the same scoreline the sides were level for the third time in the match. It all came down to the final game, Urmston’s James Heslop against Ste Reddy of the Roebuck, and Ste was certainly ready for this one, securing victory for his side with a comfortable 3-0 win.

This big win for BHC Aces helped them open up a 10 point gap at the top of the Division 3 league table, ensuring they remain unbeaten in the league with a solitary cup defeat their only blemish this season.

Wins for Iris Bannister and Andy McCormack put the Aces into an early 2-0 lead, before Stretfordians captain Lindsay Rice pulled one back with a 2-0 win in game 3. This was to be as close as it got for Stretfordians as BHC Aces turned up the heat to win all the remaining games without losing a leg. Josh Shaw won a deciding leg with Rob Barber to put the Brook ahead, but the game was turned on its head after wins for Chris Cordingley and Alex Rydstrom put the Bulls into a 3-2 lead with just two games to play. The Royal Oak B have come back strongly in recent weeks after some challenging early results, and this victory was their third in succession in the league.

The Oak raced into an early lead with wins in each of the first three games coming via Rob Whiteside, Jaydon Strong and Andrew Mossop. A 2-0 Angela Haycocks win in game 4 reduced the defecit to 3-1, but Oak B captain Jack Holt secured the win for his side, making it 4-1 with a 2-0 win in the fifth. Match Stats

The Buck Inn-eers 3 vs 4 The Jolly Butcher

The Buck Inn-eers are still looking for that elusive first win, but can count themselves unlucky here after holding a 3-1 lead after four games, before eventually losing the match 4-3.

Matt Kershaw and Rick Hindle gave the Buck Inn-eers an early 2-0 lead, but that lead was halved as Chris O’Keefe’s 2-0 win in game 3 got the Jolly Butcher on the scoreboard. Declan Law put the Buck’s 3-1 up and within touching distance of a first win after a 2-0 defeat of Michael Wessemeyer, but the Jolly Butcher hadnt read the script and Chris McGrory, Liz Sweeney and Steve Foster claimed wins in the remaining three games, all via deciding legs, to snatch victory from the jaws of defeat.
