Volunteer secured their first win over The Vic Withington in years, sealing a 4–3 away victory after the hosts had taken the gallon 2–0.

Gary Grayson set the tone in game one, beating Terry Jepson 3–1 with six tons and a 19-dart leg. James Roberts then doubled the lead after taking a last leg decider against me. Sean Edwards hit back for the Vic in game three, firing in seven tons and a 180 to beat Toni Williams 3–2, but the Vol extended their lead once again when Karl Bannister made it 3–1 with a 3–1 win over Matthew Jepson.

The Vic now had it all to do, and although Connor Wigley went 2-0 up in an attempt to reduce the gap, Gary Williams came storming back to win 3-2 and seal the win for his side. Williams struck eight tons, a 180, and a 17 darter, while Connor claimed a classy 110 finish.

With the game lost, the Vic’s remaining players finished strongly to give the match a more respectable scoreline – Toni Wieczorek pulled one back in game six, taking out Tony Grinnell 3–1 with five tons, an 18-dart leg and a 69.49 average, while in the final game of the night Lewis Holley had a fine perfromance with a 68.71 average in his 3–2 win over Christopher Grinnell,  Lewis hitting four tons, a 180 and a superb 134 finish, while Chris can consider himself unlucky, having a 67.58 average and hitting 10 ton plus scores in defeat.
