St Anthonys B continued their unbeaten season so far with a 5–2 win over The Vic Burnage, despite losing the gallon 2–0.
Tom Beatie got the hosts off to a strong start in game one, beating Dave Hart 3–1 with three tons and a 20-dart leg, before Ant Hargreaves Sr made it 2–0, sweeping aside Kaine Goldie 3–0 with three tons and a 19-dart finish.
It had been a cracking start for the Vic, but from there, St Anthony’s B took control.
Sean Wilkinson opened their account in game three, seeing off Dylan Wimbury 3–1 with eight tons and a 20-darter, then Mike Shaw drew them level, winning 3–1 against Steve Moane with a typically strong display in which he hit a 15 darter, six tons and a 104 finish.
Martin Tyson made it 3–2 to the visitors in game five, beating Pete Evans 3–1 in a high-scoring contest where Evans fired in seven tons but Tyson replied with six of his own and an 18-dart leg.
Oliver Clarke secured the win in game six, battling past Andrew Day 3–2 while hitting a 75.94 average with seven tons, a 180 and a 16-dart leg, and Rich Davies rounded things off with a 3–1 win over Tony Green in game seven, registering six tons and a 19-darter as the Saints made it eleven wins from eleven played in the league.
