Urmston SC delivered a ruthless performance at Moorside Road as they whitewashed Cringlewood A 7–0 in their Week 7 clash. Cringlewood at least took the gallon 2–1, but that was as good as it got for the visitors on a dominant night for the hosts.
Glynn Griffiths opened up with a comfortable 3–0 win over John Mulhern in game 1 before Harry Fitton edged a tight five-leg battle in game 2, averaging 60.76 with seven 100+ scores and a 20-dart leg to see off David Huddlestone, who hit 6 ton pluses, a 20 darter of his own and a 180 in defeat. Game 3 followed a similar script as Mason Gamble got the better of Alex Martin 3–1, notching five 100+ scores, a 180 and an 18-darter, and the match was secured as 9 ton plusses for Gaz Lane helped him claim game 4 with a 3–2 win over Ray Levesconte, whose efforts included six 100+ scores and an 18-dart leg in vain. Joe Kirk made it 5-0 with a 3–1 win against Phil Lauder, and USC were in no mood to let up in the sixth as Shaun Griffiths made short work of Hayley Mulhern in a 3–0 sweep, registering a 72.73 average and an 18-dart leg along the way.
Stephen Lye rounded things off in style with the performance of the night: a 77.74 average, seven scores of 100+ and a superb 107 checkout in a 3–0 win over Ellis Mulhern, who despite defeat fired in a 180 and averaged 65.39 himself. A clean sweep for USC, who barely put a foot wrong all night.
