Sale Excel came out on top in a tight contest, winning 4–3 and taking the gallon 2–1 to make it back-to-back home victories. It was a measure of payback too, having lost 5–2 away to Melville in Week 2.
Melville struck first as Owen Powell opened with a 3–2 win over Hannah Tague, hitting six tons along the way. Michael Watling quickly levelled it for the hosts, taking game two 3–0 with five tons, a 20-darter and a 66.31 average. Danny Chua then put Sale ahead with a 3–1 win over Bradley Hodgson, firing six tons, before Peter Sage made it 3–1 thanks to a 3–1 success over Paul Sambrook, who had hit five tons in defeat.
Melville hit back through Gary Brisco in game five, winning 3–1 against Andy Cheetham with five tons and the night’s least darts at 16. Jon Powell kept the visitors alive by beating Pete Foxley 3–0, finding six tons and a 20-darter to make it 3–3. That set up a decider, and it was Ryan Potts who sealed the points for Sale, taking the last game 3–1 over Jake Powell with five tons and a 20-dart leg to round off a hard-fought win.
