Sale Excel 4 – 3 BH Central
Sale Excel edged out a tight 4–3 victory over Broadheath Central, and in doing so gained some revenge for the heavy 6-1 defeat suffered at Broadheath back in June.
Michael Watling got things rolling in game one to put Sale ahead with a 3–2 win over Jordan Woodbridge, before an on-song Andy Cheetham made it two with a 3–1 win in game two, firing in seven 100+ scores and a 20 darter to finish with a creditable 66.50 average.
Peter Sage continued the good start for the Excel with a 64.50 average as he made it 3–0 with a 3–2 win over Harry Spurling – who himself had four 100+ scores and a 65.23 average. Game four saw Broadheath finally get off the mark, as Tom McGiveron whitewashed Jimmy Nolan 3–0.
Ryan Potts stepped up in game five to seal the win for Sale Excel with a convincing 3–0 display against JonJo Devon, including a 19-dart leg, but Broadheath fought back to brab a couple more points after taking the final two games, as Sam McCallister beat Pete Foxley 3–0 and Brandon Lawley rounded it off with a 3–0 win over Warren McCoubrey, producing a 76 finish and a match-high 71.57 average.
