The hosts got off to a bright start, with Ryan Crook securing a 3–1 win over John Greaves in game 1, but the sides were level after John Hawken edged a close one with Jordan Perry 3–2 helped six 100+ scores, a 20-darter. Luke Loveitt produced a sparkling performance in game 3 to put The Oak back in front with a clean 3–0 win over Andy Docker featuring five ton-plus scores, a 180, an 18-darter and finishing with a 76.42 average. The home side had the bit between their teeth and Pete Perry extended the lead to 3–1, hitting a 19 darter on the way to seeing off 180 hitting Gaz O’Donnell by 3 legs to 1.
But from there, the tide turned. Gaz Brickhill pulled one back for Alker in game 5 with a dominant 3–0 win over Alex Williams, landing five 100+ scores, while Kevin Acton followed suit in game 6, also winning 3–0 to bring the match level. With it all going down to the deciding seventh game, Gary Thompson held his nerve to complete the Alker comeback. A 3–0 win over Sharon Kirby featured six ton-plus scores, a 17-dart leg, and a 70 finish — sealing both the match and bonus points for John Alker in a pulsating finish.
