Cringlewood A edged a close 4-3 win over hosts Royal Oak A to claim their second win of the season so far, but it was the home team who struck first with a 2–0 success in the gallon.
Ellis Mulhern got things going for Cringlewood with a 3–0 win in game one over Tony Kirby, but The Oak responded immediately as Steven Lee held off David Huddlestone 3–2 in a tight second game, helped by five ton-plus scores and a 23-darter. In game 3 Ryan Crook put the hosts into a 2-1 lead after a solid 3–0 victory over Phil Lauder, but the sides were level once again as Cringlewood hit back through Rob Lauder in game four with a 3-1 win against Jordan Perry. Game 5 saw Steve Lawless put the Royal Oak 3–2 ahead with a 3-0 whitewashing of Luke Mulhern, which featured three 100+ scores and a 22-dart finish, but with the Oak one game away from victory, the tide turned again.
Alex Martin saw off Sharon Kirby 3–0 in game six to bring the teams level for a third time in the match, which left it all down to game seven between Pete Perry and Ray Levesconte. Ray delivered for Cringlewood, defying 7 ton plus scores from Pete and firing in five 100+ scores of his own to clinch the match overall for Cringlewood.
