Roebuck 3–4 Melville
Melville made it two wins from two over Roebuck this season, following up their 5–2 home success in Week 7 with a narrow 4–3 victory on the road.
Rick Kiel got Roebuck off to the perfect start with a 3–0 win over Owen Powell, throwing four tons along the way. Jon Powell then levelled things for Melville with a 3–2 win over Phil Wright in a close contest featuring five tons from the Melville man.
Chris Haycock edged Roebuck back in front at 2–1 with a 3–2 win over Bradley Hodgson, despite Hodgson matching Jon Powell’s tally of five tons in defeat,and after Ste Ready claimed a 3-0 victory over Cam McFarlane, the Roebuck were 3-1 up and on course for just their second win of the season.
But from 3–1 down, Melville mounted a gritty comeback. Gary Brisco started the charge with a 3–0 win over Ash Aikenhead, registering five tons of his own, before Paul Sambrook levelled the match at 3–3, hitting five tons and a 22-dart leg in a 3–1 win against Chris Reddy, sending the match into a deciding game.
Melville had the bit between their teeth at this stage, and Jake Powell completed the turnaround in the decider, beating Mark Garnett 3–0 with a solid display that included a tidy 88 checkout.
