Match Information
These two sides went head-to-head in a tight contest that swung back and forth before Brooklands Tap edged it at the death. The visitors also took the gallon 2–0 to make it a strong night overall.
Brooklands flew out of the blocks, storming into a 3–0 lead as Lee Armsden claimed a 2-0 win over Stephen Wilcox, before Gerard Gornall, and Tristan Cullen edged deciding leg wins against Lewis Gould and Stuart Ridings to put the visitors on the brink of victory after only three games played.
But The Old Plough weren’t done, and a mighty effort saw them get right back into the match and force a decider. Lewis Kent kicked off the fightback in Game 4 with a deciding leg win over Callum Cummings, which was then followed by similar scorelines for Stephen Senior against Jamie WIlliams and Nick Brown over Trevor Frost – these back-to-back wins bringing things level at 3–3. It all came down to a deciding seventh game and Brooklands Tap rose to the occasion with Mike Cribbin delivering when it mattered most, sealing a narrow 2–1 victory over Paul Fent to hand his side the win.
