Dog & Partridge recorded a big 6-1 win at Old Market Tavern to keep themselves hot on the heels of Division 3 leaders the Buck Inn-eers, now just one point behind the Bucks with both teams having four games left to play.
The Dog sealed the win early, with it all wrapped up after just four games – In game 1 Dave Cook hit a 71 finish as he overcame Steven Foster 2–1, game 2 saw Graham Beech double the lead with a 75 finish during a 2-0 defeat of Alastair Pinchien, Chris Conduit made it 3–0 beating Les Potts 2–0, and Tom Spillane made sure of the bonus points in game 4 with a 2-1 victory over Nathan Potts.
Any thoughts of a whitewash were averted in game 5 as Old Market Tavern finally got off the mark when Rick Haycocks took a deciding leg win over Elliot Wynne, but that was to be just a consolation point, as in game 6 Dan Buckley beat Sally Corfield 2–0, before the night was rounded off in game 7 by Dave Harris, who claimed 2–0 win over Emily Haycocks, sealing a dominant 6–1 victory for the visitors.
