The Volunteer came away from Altrincham with the league points, edging a tight contest 4–3 despite Navigation having taken the gallon 2–0 earlier in the night.
The home side started well when Andy Kindred opened with a 3–2 win over James Roberts in game one, Roberts firing in a fine 93 finish along the way. Volunteer struck back in game two as Gary Williams overcame Fred Mitchenson 3–1, landing a tidy 108 checkout despite Mitchenson hitting a 180 and five ton‑pluses in defeat.
Gary Grayson then put the visitors in front with a 3–0 success against Mark Skelton, helped by a 67.30 average, and Christopher Grinnell kept the run going in game four, beating Gary Molyneux 3–1 while helping himself to six ton‑pluses.
Callum Loose responded for the Navigation, making it 3-2 in game five with a dominant 3–0 win over Tony Grinnell, hitting a 68.32 average with four ton‑pluses and a 19‑dart leg, but Dan O’Donnell sealed the overall match for Volunteer with a 3–0 result over Matt Bulger in game six.
