LMRCA turned the tables on Dog & Partridge with a 4-3 victory at the Railway Club in this Division 3 clash, gaining revenge for October’s 4-3 reverse to them in the KO Shield. The visitors did take the gallon 2-1, but LMRCA got the bonus points for the league win that moves them into second place in the table.

Dog & Partridge flew out of the traps in Game 1 when Chris Pollard’s 24-dart leg and tidy 80 finish swept aside Tony Feesey 2-0. LMRCA hit straight back though as Game 2 saw Ciaran Algar post three ton-plus scores on the way to a 2-0 win over Tom Moore. The momentum swung again in Game 3 as Graham Beech rattled in a sparkling 17-darter—the night’s quickest leg—and three 100+ scores to edge Simon Craig and nudge the Dog and Partridge 2-1 in front.

From there the hosts found another gear. Ron Cooke’s three tons and 57.68 average—the best by a home player—helped him clinch Game 4 after a deciding leg against Dominic Powell, despite Powell registering six ton-plus scores, a 72 checkout, 21 darter and the highest average of the evening with a 63.74. In game five the lead changed hands again as Tony Spilsbury came through another last-leg tussle to put LMRCA 3-2 ahead.

Alan Gleave sealed the match in Game 6, defying a 180 from Elliot Wynne (his second of the season) to win 2-1 and seal the match for LMRCA, but the Dog and Partridge secured another consolation point in game 7 when Chris Conduit claimed a 2-0 win over Derek Ostick to give a final score of 4-3 to the hosts.
