LMRCA 3 – 4 Bent Brook

Bent Brook edged out LMRCA in a tight contest that went down to the final leg of the night at the Railway Club, taking the gallon 2–0 and grinding out a narrow 4–3 win to avenge their 5-2 defeat in the reverse fixture a fortnight ago.

Paul Charnock gave the visitors the ideal start with a 2–0 win over Ciaran Algar, and Sean Digan doubled the lead with a second 2–0 win — this time over Tony Feesey. Tony Spilsbury got LMRCA on the board in Game 3 with a 2–0 win over Alex Morton, and Simon Craig pushed hard in game 4 in the next but was edged 2–1 by Sam Oldham who put the Brook 3-1 up and on the brink of victory.

LMRCA’s Joe Davis kept things alive in Game 5, beating Connor O’Toole 2–1 and hitting four 100+ scores to bring it to 3–2, and the sides were level after Ron Cooke followed up with another 2–1 win, this time over Jake Proctor.

That left it to Game 7, where Ryan Smith closed it out for Bent Brook with a 2–1 win over Dave Brooks. Smith hit two tons to Brooks’ three in a nervy finish that could’ve gone either way, but it was the Brook with the bragging rights this time around and they consolidate fifth place, five points behind their beaten opponents.

Next up for the Bent Brook is a KO Shield last 16 clash with Division 1’s Victoria Burnage, while LMRCA, who lost in the KO shield prelim to the Bent Brook will have a week off before a trip to the Jolly Butcher on the 23rd July.
