Stuart Watson gave the home side the perfect start, landing a pair of ton‑pluses, a 24 darter and a 74 finish to beat Derek Ostick 2–1, despite Ostick notching four tons and a 24‑dart leg of his own. LMRCA responded through Ron Cooke in game two, but the Butcher were soon back in the lead after Darren Moore claimed a 2-0 win over Tony Feesey.

But the match tipped toward the visitors from there — Tony Spilsbury levelled it again with a 2–0 win over Gaz Sullivan, Dave Brooks followed up to give LMRCA a 3-2 lead with a 2-0 defeat of Steven Foster, and Alan Gleave sealed the win with a 2-0 victory against Chris O’Keefe in game six, firing in three ton‑pluses and a sharp 20‑dart leg to make it 4–2.

Skipper Liz Sweeney claimed a late point for the Butcher with a 2–1 win over Joe Davis in the last game, backed by two ton‑pluses, but LMRCA had already done enough.
