Dog & Partridge made it five big wins on the trot as they improved on their recent 5-2 home win over the Jolly Butcher with a 6–1 victory away from home, also taking the gallon 2–0. Their recent run of good form sees the Didsbury side handily placed in second position in the table, just a point behind leaders the Buck Inn-eers, while the Butcher are still looking for that elusive first win of the season.

Dan Buckley kicked things off in Game 1 with a 2–0 win over Kayleigh Sweeney, hitting two tons and producing a 21-dart leg before Chris Conduit doubled the Dog’s lead when he followed up with a 2–1 win over Michael Wesemeyer in Game 2, both players landing two 100+ scores and Conduit with a 25-darter.

Derek Winess also hit a couple of tons as he made it 3–0, with a 2–0 win over Steve Foster in Game 3, and the match was over as a contest when Game 4 saw the visitors move into an unassailable lead when Dominic Powell defeated Liz Sweeney 2–1 –  though butcher captain Liz had the consolation of landing 3 ton plus scores – the most of any player on the night.

After Game 5 it was 5-0 as Graham Beech beat Stuart Watson 2–0, matching the team trend with two 100+ scores. Jolly Butcher got their only point of the night in Game 6, as Darren Moore beat Dog Captain Tom Spillane 2–0, hitting a 74 checkout on the way which was the best finish of the match.

But that was to be as good as it got for the home team, as the final game went 2–1 to Dog & Partridge, with Dave Cook edging Stephen Flinders 2-1 in a last leg decider.

Next up for the Dog is a KO Shield last 16 encounter with Division 4’s Cringlewood B, while the Jolly Butcher take on Division 2’s Carters Arms in the same competition.
