John Alker 6 – 1 Cringlewood A

The narrow 4-3 winning margin for the John Alker in the last fixture for each of these teams was a distant memory, as the reverse fixture proved to be one way traffic for the home side, who overcame the loss of the first game to power through the following six to claim a big win, backed up by a 2-0 win in the gallon.

Cringlewoods Rob Lauder opened the night in fine form, sweeping aside Chris Wormald 3–0 in Game 1 and doing so with five tons, an 18 darter and a slick 120 finish, but that was as good as it got for the visitors.

In the battle of the veterans, Gary Thompson levelled things up with a straightforward 3–0 over Phil Lauder in Game 2, before John Hawken put the Alker in front with a 16 darter during a 3–2 win over Ellis Mulhern.  Ellis played well in defeat,  firing in seven 100s and the only 180 of the night but Hawken had 5 ton plusses of his own and did enough in the deciding leg to claim the win.

From there, the hosts never looked back. James Munro edged past David Huddlestone 3–2 in Game 4,  before Ian Moore breezed past Mark Heaton 3-0 to make it 4–1 in game 5 and secure the match for the Alker.

Kyle Wands added some gloss in Game 6 with five tons and a 16-dart leg during a 3–0 win against John Mulhern, and Mike Nolan rounded off a fine home victory with a 3–1 win against Alex Martin, who still managed to notch four 100s and a tidy 19-darter in defeat.

Next up for the Alker is an all Division 1 KO Cup game against the Navigation, while the Cringlewood A have already played their KO Cup game and will have a week off before a game against Victoria Burnage on 23rd July.
