Cringlewood B 5 – 2 Old Plough

Cringlewood B took a strong 5–2 win at home over Old Plough, bouncing back from a narrow 4-3  defeat in the reverse fixture two weeks earlier. The gallon went the way of the visitors, but the singles belonged firmly to the hosts.

Old Plough struck first as Matt Melling beat Mark Chappell 2–0 in Game 1, hitting two tons and keeping control throughout. But Cringlewood hit back straight away, Harrison Doherty took Game 2 with a 2–0 win over Stuart Ridings, hittng three tons and finishing a leg in 22 darts.

Game 3 saw Lewis Kent put the Plough back ahead with a 2–0 win over Nick Delaney, before Sean Chappell levelled the match again, edging past Lewis Gould 2–1.

From there, Cringlewood didn’t look back. They took a 3-2 lead after Dillon Delaney came through 2–1 against Jack Bates in Game 5, then Jackson Dace claimed the match win when he hit a 23 darter and produced the best average of the match with a 65.35 in Game 6, sweeping aside Stephen Senior 2–0.

Michael Basham then added some gloss to the win, wrapping up a 2–0 win over Reece Newell in the final game of the night.

Next up for the Cringlewood B is a tough test at Division 3 form side Dog & Partridge in the KO Shield, while The Plough have a couple of weeks rest, with no cup fixture this week and a bye the week after – they return to action with an away trip to Metros Sports on 30th July.
