Urmston SC made it two wins from two against Cringlewood A this season, following up their Week 7 whitewash with a much tighter 4–3 away win at Yewtree Lane.
Mason Gamble gave the visitors the early lead, beating Ray Levesconte 3–0, but Ellis Mulhern struck back for the hosts, taking a 3–0 win of his own over Dave Tong.
Urmston took the lead again after Mark Colgan hit a 94 finish during a 3–2 win over Alex Martin who hit 5 tons and a 180 in defeat, and Stephen Lye followed with a 3–1 win against Phil Lauder, firing in a 19-darter and a 180 to stretch the lead to 3–1.
Rob Lauder battled hard in game five, landing three tons and checking out on 86, but couldn’t stop Gaz Lane from edging it 3–2 for Urmston, Lane piling on seven 100+ scores and a 20-dart leg while securing the bonus points for the visitors.
Cringlewood werent done though and grabbed two further consolation points with Luke Mulhern taking a 3–1 win over Joe Kirk, while David Huddlestone closed the night with a 3–2 victory over Harry Fitton — helped along by five 100+ scores.
