Broadheath Central needed a miracle if they were to stay up, and that needed to start with a convincing win in this, their penultimate game of the 2024/25 season. With a man short, they were immediately under the cosh, and it proved a step too far as despite drawing the games played on the night 3-3, having a missing player gifted Brooklands Tap a 4-3 win and condemned Broadheath to Division 2 darts next season.

With the visitors 1 up from the off, Broadheath got off to a good start in game 1 with a 3-1 win for Tim Dibben effectively levelling the tie, but Eddie Clare put the Tap back in front with a 3-2 deciding leg win over Broadheath Captain JonJo Devon. Another last leg decider followed in game 3, but this one went in Broadheath’s favour as Brandon Lawley got the better of Niall Willis to make it 2-2. In the fourth game The Tap went ahead once more as Callum Nolan hit a 15 darter and a creditable 82 average during his 3-0 defeat of Lee Darcy, But it was soon 3-3 on the night after Leyton Jackson repeated that scoreline with victory against Dan Williams. The final game saw Broadheath’s Dan Cross take on Tap Captain, Geoff Sanders, and the skipper made no mistake in securing a 3-1 win which assured his side of the bonus points.

Both teams have one game remaining, both of which will take place on the 15th January. Broadheath travel to the Victoria Withington, while Brooklands Tap take on third placed Timperley.
