Match Information

With the unexpected end to the title battle, no-one could have blamed the Ammies if they’d been a little subdued in their final fixture against the Victoria Burnage, but there was to be none of that as despite losing the opening game they then cruised to a 6-1 win.

Victoria Burnage captain Steve Moane put his side into the lead, pinning a 14 darter in his 3-1 win against Ray Dore, but a 3-0 victory for Mike Morrison along with a 71.57 average brought the outgoing champions level. Another 3-0 win, this time for Karl Cooper, put the Ammies into the lead, and it was soon 3-1 after a 3-2 win for Scott Livingstone against Tony Green in game four. Adam Watson sealed the win and recorded his sixth 80+ average in 13 games with an 83.50 during a 3-0 mauling of Ant Hargreaves Jr, before Paul Devine, who has revealed that this will be his last season as captain, claimed a 3-1 win against Dylan Wimbury to make it 5-1. Pete Watson, who will take over as captain next season, rounded things off for the Ammies with his 11th 180 of the season during a 3-2 win over Mick Cooney.

Next up for The Ammies is the KO Cup final against Victoria Withington on 22nd January, while Victoria Burnage face The John Alker in their final league fixture of the season on 15th January.
