Royal Oak A eased into the quarter-finals of the KO Shield with an emphatic 6–1 home win over Division 3’s Old Market Tavern.
Pete Perry set the pace in game one with a 2–0 win over Howard Haycocks, hitting four tons and averaging 68.32 to put the Division 1 side on the front foot. Nathan Potts hit back for the visitors in game two, notching three 100+ scores in a 2–1 win against Sharon Kirby — the Tavern’s only win of the night.
From there, it was all Royal Oak. Chris Pender beat Ian Fensome 2–0, before Steve Lawless hit four tons in a 2–0 win over Sally Corfield.
