Broadheath Central made it two on the bounce against Carters Arms with a close 4–3 win, which sees them third, just a point behind Ashton as sides start to jockey for the promotion spots. Broadheath also took the gallon to sit top of that particular table.
Former Broadheath player Martin Johnson opened the night for the Carters with a 3–2 win over Dan Cross, landing seven tons to grind out a tight 3-2 win to put the home side ahead, and it was 2-0 to the hosts as captain Gavin Halton followed up with a 3–0 sweep of Sam McCallister. In game 3 Brandon Lawley continued to show his qualitypulling one back with a 3-1 defeat of John Thierens Snr, piling in eight 100+ scores in the process.
A shock was on the cards as game 4 saw John Thierens Jnr edge Jordan Woodbridge 3–1 to make it 3–1 for the home side, but that would be the last point of the night for the Carters. Tom McGiveron pulled one back for Broadheath with a 3–1 win over Phil Laws, and JonJo Devon levelled the match by beating Harry Mitchell 3–1.
With the match now tied, Broadheath’s ginger prince Leyton Jackson stepped up in the decider and saw off Dave Sills 3–1, securing the win for and capping off a strong comeback.
Broadheath now face a KO Cup last 16 fixture with Division 4 leaders Wythenshawe CSC, while the Carters host a KO Shield Last 16 match against the Jolly Butcher.
