Urmston SC claimed their place in the last 8 with a commanding 5–2 home win over Bulls Head, pulling clear after a tense opening.
The visitors struck first in game one when Alex Rydstrom edged past Urmston captain Michelle Fitton 3–2, but from there, the hosts took over. Stephen Lye levelled the match in game two, beating Gareth Shaw 3–0 with five tons, before Dave Tong edged out Bo Bowman 3–2 in a high‑scoring third game that saw Tong post a 21 darter, six tons and a 74 checkout, while Bowman replied with eight tons of his own. Gaz Lane extended the lead to 3-1 in game four, beating Steve Hazlehurst 3–0.
Mark Colgan then wrapped up qualification in game five, storming past Rob Barber 3–0 with a 71.88 average which included six tons a 17 darter and a neat 100 checkout to give the hosts the decisive fourth win. Bulls Head kept battling, with Iain Fish taking game six 3–0 over Brandon Gamble, but Mason Gamble closed the night in style, overcoming Jamie Harris 3–1 with five tons, a 16 darter and the only 180 of the night.
