Navigation powered into the KO Cup Quarter Finals with a commanding 6–1 win away at John Alker. The hosts managed to grab one early success, but Navigation were in control for most of the night.
Game one saw John Greaves take on Chris Stone, and Stone set the tone with a 3–0 win that included four tons, a 21‑dart leg and an 82 checkout. In game two Gaz O’Donnell faced Mark Skelton and levelled the match for Alker, running out a 3–0 winner with three tons, an 18‑dart leg and a 115 finish, but from there on in it was all The Navigation. Game three paired Kevin Acton with Andy Broadhurst, Broadhurst restoring Navigation’s lead with seven ton plus scores in a 3–1 win, before in game four Fred Mitchenson took a 3–0 win against James Munro to stretch the lead to 3–1.
Callum Loose then took on John Hawken in game five and turned on the style, winning 3–0 with five tons, an 18‑dart leg and a sparkling 124 finish to seal Navigation’s passage to the quarters. Andy Kindred stretched the winning margin against Kyle Wands in game six, coming through 3–2 with six tons and a 180. Gary Molyneux completed the 6–1 scoreline in game seven, beating Gary Thompson 3–2 with five tons and a 180 along the way.
